No previous experience in construction is needed - we'll provide the training you need to succeed. In this role, you'll develop your skills, work closely with different teams, and contribute to a variety of construction projects across the UK. About the Opportunity:
Select is seeking a dedicated and proactive Trainee/Assistant Estimator to join the Select Site Solutions team. Based at our Dartford Head Office, you will play a key role in supporting the Work Winning and Commercial teams. Your focus will be on preparing bids, pricing tenders, and managing contract variations within our accommodation and hoarding business streams – delivering for Laing O'Rourke as well as external clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare pricing for modular accommodation and site hoarding bids, including quantification from drawings
- Assist with bid preparation and submission
- Price contract variations
- Support the process of raising material and subcontract orders once work is secured.
- Maintain, update, and present work-winning trackers; assist with budget forecasts.
- Keep pricing data up to date within pricing tools.
- Update Salesforce and liaise with clients and external consultants to ensure smooth communication and project flow.
About You:
- Strong numerical aptitude with proficient Excel skills
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
- Energetic, proactive, and eager to learn with the ability to work independently
- Well-organised, logical thinker with attention to detail
- Comfortable working under pressure and meeting deadlines
- Knowledge of COINS and/or Salesforce software is advantageous
