We have recently established a fire sprinkler division to enable in house delivery of fire sprinkler systems across some of our projects.

 

As Sprinkler Design Engineer you will be responsible of all Fire Suppression design elements in supporting the business on the large / complex projects. You will be part of the project delivery team based in one of our offices / projects site offices. On occasion it will be necessary to travel to sites around the UK to perform site surveys, complete progress reviews, mark up drawings and attend meetings as required.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Preparation of sprinkler system designs for a variety of applications (Large works, small works, LPC Rules, NFPA, FM)
  • Design responsibility throughout the project life.
  • Production of technical documentation, installation drawings and coordination models.
  • Production of hydraulic calculations.
  • On-site surveying where necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with the relevant design standards and project specifications.
  • Specification of equipment.
  • Completion and submission to relevant stakeholders of all end-of-project documentation e.g. O&M, As-Fitted Drawings, Certification
  • Review meetings with the client.
  • Coordination meetings with external subcontractors within multi-discipline design team.
  • Liaison with suppliers

 

Quality & Compliance

  • Being familiar with & complying to all company & regulatory processes
  • Participating with internal & third part audits
  • Consultation with subject matter experts where required
  • Adhere to all company policies & procedures, particularly to health & safety

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Familiarity with all standard MS applications.
  • Working knowledge of BS EN 12845 & LPS1048 Schemes.
  • LPCB Basic design, Intermediate or FHC qualifications would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of FM & NFPA standards would be an advantage.
  • Relevant technical design experience and the preparation of technical documentation and drawings.
  • Must be proficient in AutoCAD, Revit and Canute FHC design software. Experience of HydraCAD, Autosprink or another relevant design software would be an advantage
