Entry requirements

Interested? We are looking for people who meet the following criteria:

  • You must be eligible to work in the UK with a valid work permit, if applicable.
  • The typical offer at Exeter is AAA-ABB at A-Level, or equivalent, to include Maths and a science. Where candidates are awaiting exam results, any offer made will be conditional on meeting the entry requirements.  Please see the University of Exeter’s entry requirements page for further details. Other qualifications of a similar level can be considered. We would encourage applicants with non-standard qualifications to contact the university to discuss their eligibility.   • Have gained at least 5 GCSEs including at grades A-C including Maths and English.
  • You will be expected to live within commuting distance of one of our projects.









Selection process & application

Our selection process is broken down into manageable stages and is designed to give you an opportunity to find out if Laing O'Rourke is the right company for you as well as giving us the opportunity to select the very best degree apprentices.

  • Step 1

    Register your interest

    Click on the 'apply now' buttons to 'register your interest' on the University of Exeter's website, providing information about your academic studies so far.

  • Step 2

    Shortlist

    University of Exeter complete academic screening and invite successful applicants to an assessment day, likely to take place August 2017.

  • Step 3

    Assessment day

    Applicants and employers, including Laing O'Rourke, meet and network at the assessment day, after which employers and applicants will be matched.

  • Step 4

    Offer of employment

    Employers contact the relevant applicants to apply for the degree apprenticeship role through their own recruitment process, before making an official offer of employment. All offers are subject to referencing and a medical questionnaire.
